UK Global Customs Tariff

This news release is issued to draw attention to the publication of the UK’s new Global Tariff (UKGT). This will replace the EU’s Common External Tariff on 1 January 2021 at the end of the Transition Period and will apply to goods directly imported into the Isle of Man from outside the customs territory of the United Kingdom and the Crown Dependencies, as it will to goods imported into the United Kingdom.

The UKGT was designed following consultation with businesses and engagement with the Crown Dependencies. As it will come into force on 1 January 2021, it is important that Island businesses can familiarise themselves with the new tariff regime ahead of this date by using the UK Global Tariff tool.

The UKGT will apply to all goods imported into the UK unless:

It only shows the tariffs that will be applied to goods at the border when they’re imported into the customs territory of the United Kingdom and the Crown Dependencies.
