Temporary traffic lights to enable concreting work on Douglas Promenade refurbishment scheme

Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in operation on Douglas Promenade from Wednesday 24 April to enable the contractor to ensure that the Promenade is ready to be open by TT.

The work is essential and lights are being used to ensure that the concreting works will be completed.

Lights will be in operation 9.30am to 3.30pm daily (including weekends) and potentially 6pm to 9pm two evenings each week, if required. Drivers are advised to consider using alternative routes during these times.

The area affected initially will be Queen’s Promenade, Summerhill and Strathallan Crescent but the lights will move southwards along the promenade as work progresses. The nearest bus drop off and pick up will be at Derby Castle for passengers travelling north and Marathon Terrace for those travelling south.

The traffic lights will be manually controlled to ensure waiting times are kept to a minimum.
