Web Pro News reports that Blighty’s SEO market has seen impressive double-digit growth this year, and number crunchers expect SEO to continue to makes strides as demand for social media and social search increases.

The news comes as Econsultancy’s 2011 SEO Agencies Buyer’s Guide valued the UK’s SEO market at £446 million – a whopping 16 per cent increase on 2009′s £376 million estimate.

SEO’s double-digit growth – impressive, even in a buoyant financial climate – proves the industry is a fast-rising star in the UK’s online industry, earlier estimated to be worth a cool £1 billion a year to Britain’s economy.

And analysts have predicted that SEO will continue to thrive, with Econsultancy research analyst Jake Hird explaining that corporate spending on SEO is unlikely to dip as the economy recovers.

“The SEO market continues to flourish, as it is a proven and highly effective method of delivering return on investment by successfully driving traffic and increasing sales,” Hird said.

The firm has also tipped search to turn social in 2011, with a focus on social media and social search expected to surge as SEO is increasingly offered as part of multi-channel digital marketing services.
