Public meetings to assess priorities ahead of Budget 2019

A series of public drop-in sessions will be hosted by the Treasury later this month aimed at gathering residents’ views on the Island’s priorities ahead of the 2019 Budget.

The informal meetings will be attended by Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan MHK, Department Members Bill Henderson MLC, Bill Shimmins MHK and Ralph Peake MHK and officers.

They will take place between 7pm and 9m:

•        Thursday 18 October, Ramsey Town Hall

•        Monday 22 October, Castletown Town Hall

•        Wednesday 24 October, Manx Legion Club, Market Hill, Douglas

•        Thursday 25 October, Peel Town Hall

Mr Cannan said:

‘While the Budget setting process is well under way, it’s important to receive feedback and suggestions about spending priorities.

‘These sessions are designed to be informal and interactive, and I urge people to come and offer their views to myself and the Members, to engage and discuss issues of importance.’
