Latest Residential Land Availability Study published

The annual update of the Residential Land Availability Study (RLAS) has been published by Isle of Man Government.

The study breaks down planning approval data for residential development by settlement and parish and monitors land that is ‘zoned’ for residential use in current development plans.

Demolitions, Conversions and Windfalls are monitored and projected to the end of the strategic plan period of 2026. All of these figures are helpful in the preparation of the Island Development Plan as a mechanism for assessing how much land needs to be released for residential development and where.

The study also shows that the recently approved Area Plan for the East addresses the imbalance of available residential development land in the Island with the East increasing from 11% to a 33% of the Island’s total.
