On the 24 April 2018, European Union (Central African Republic Sanctions) (Amendment) Order 2018 came into operation. This Order applied Council Regulation (EU) 2018/387, as part of Island law subject to certain modifications.
On 30 January 2018, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2399 (2018), which provides for certain amendments to the exemptions to the arms embargo, as well as to the designation criteria relating to persons and entities subject to restrictive measures. This Order gives effect to the amendments.
The Central African Republic Sanctions (Amendment) Regulation 2018 also came into force on the same day.
