European Union (Democratic Republic of the Congo Sanctions) Order 2018

On 24 April 2018, the European Union (Democratic Republic of the Congo Sanctions) Order came into operation. This Order applies in Island law Council Regulation (EC) 1183/2005 imposing certain specific measures directed against person acting in violation of the arms embargo with regard to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as substantively amended by a number of subsequent instruments.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (Sanctions) Regulations 2018 also came into force on the same day and provide for the enforcement of the EC Regulations and penalties for such offences.

An updated version of Sanctions Notice 16 (Democratic Republic of the Congo) will be made available on the Customs and Excise website.
