Isle of Man 2010 Photo Competition – Isle of Man Tourism is pleased to announce that its 2010 Photo Competition is now underway, and is urging all budding photographers to submit their best images of the Island.
Over £1000 of prize money is up for grabs and photographers have until August to lodge their entries. Seven prizes of £100 will be awarded to the winning image in each category, with seven prizes of £50 awarded to each runner up.
Director of Isle of Man Tourism, Rod Nipper, has encouraged local enthusiasts and visitors to the Island to take part. He said:
‘I would encourage all residents and visitors with an interest in photography to enter the 2010 competition. The Isle of Man is a fantastic place to photograph and I have no doubt that this year’s entries will reflect the beautiful scenery and attractions that the Island has to offer.’
Photographers can enter up to two images in up to four of the following categories:
• Manx Heritage and Culture
• Coastal
• Countryside
• Wildlife
• Transport
• Isle of Man Events
• Island Life
Winning images will be used by Isle of Man Tourism for promotional and marketing activities to help promote the Isle of Man as a visitor destination.
Entry forms and a full list of rules are available on the website – www.visitisleofman.com or from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal. The closing date for entries is August 31st 2010. All entries should be sent to Isle of Man Tourism, St Andrews House, Finch Road, Douglas, IM1 2PX, and be clearly marked, ‘Isle of Man Tourism Photo Competition’.
